Not related to the coffee shop at all, nor to surfing, but… I just wanted to let everyone know that I whooped Eva’s @$$ at scrabble the other night.
I beat her with a seven-letter word (W-H-E-E-L-I-N-G). …And it happened to be placed on a triple word tile, giving me 48 points. …Plus I got an additional 50 points for using all of my seven tiles –BONUS!!!
A day late, but…………………….
here is our NEW ARTIST at the shop.
Her name is Shanti Ragnoli.
She is originally from Brescia, Italy.
…But now currently resides most of the year in Albany, California.
But… is also fortunate to be able to spend five months or so
-here in Barra De Navidad.
–Where she is allowed most of her time to paint.
She does an amazing job with color combination, and really knows how to create texture.
Also, through her work, you can see her attention to detail.
As you can see below, she is an amazing artist!
If you would like to see more of her work, you can visit her site at Shantiswork.com.
Well… it is a new week, and we are featuring a new artist. Her name is Linda Clancy.
With not much to say, here are her beautiful paintings.
Sunday I spent my day off …with my girlfriends in Pascuales, watching the Damas Primero surf contest.
It was so… incredibly fun!!! Continue Reading →
The four paintings located to the right, are the beginnings of Patrizia’s next series…
Still unknown what it will be called or where she will take it.
–I am very excited to see what she does.
In the meantime, while she is in the midst of creating,
–They are hanging at the shop to view.
And… if anyone is interested, Patti is willing to sell them and create more.
*I would love to see them on a big scale, like her last series “Surrender”.
But… we will leave those decisions to the artist.
Got any thoughts or suggestions, how you would like to see the new series go?
Ok -so I know I just now, shared with you all the first artist I showcased this season, but we are on …to the next one.
For the month of February, the shop will be featuring artist,
Patti as her friends call her, comes from Vancouver Island –studied art at North Island College exploring clay, stone, metal, concrete, paint, and canvas -resulting in the creation of sculpture and paintings which emphasize form and color.
Which is amazingly illustrated in her newest series “Surrender”—Paintings of women floating, drifting, and simply sitting.
Here, she uses the female form as a metaphor for the existential search for meaning and ultimately happiness.
The idea of “letting go” and “surrendering” as an exploration of self discovery and the journey to finding and living a purposeful life.
Below, is the “Surrender” series. Check them out 😉 Continue Reading →
Well everyone, the gallery is finally up and running, and our first artist is… Heather Tovar.
Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of this amazing woman. –Maybe one of these days, I will revise this post and add one …along with a little bio of her under the tab Artists.
For now, I just have these images of her paintings hanging in the gallery. Check em out. Continue Reading →

Also, if you are interested… feel free to pop in and make a special order for something wonderful -a loaf of bread, a yummy pie, or a cake to celebrate someone you love.
